Editorial standards

I investigate companies, ownership, wealth and careers through public records. My job is to show what the evidence supports, what I calculated and what remains unknown.

Evidence before a headline

I use company announcements, regulatory filings, court records, corporate registers and original research where they answer the question. A company or investor statement is an interested source, not independent confirmation. I link records inside the relevant sentences and retain the date and definition behind financial figures.

Source counts do not certify accuracy. An article can contain an unresolved question, but it must describe that uncertainty rather than turn it into a fact.

Estimates and calculations

Personal wealth, company valuation, money raised, transaction consideration and managed assets are different measures. I label third-party estimates with their estimator and date. My calculations show their inputs and limits; an unknown private stake stays unknown.

Charts use comparable observations. Missing figures are not zero, and proposed deals, debt or partial holdings do not become exact equity valuations simply to fill a chart.

Editorial independence

Payment cannot buy a favorable conclusion or change an ownership finding. Any paid placement must be clearly marked. A relevant financial interest or business relationship should be disclosed in the article; do not assume that an illustrated person or company endorses this publication.

AI assistance and human responsibility

AI can assist research, drafting, editing and illustrations. It is not a source for a financial claim. I remain responsible for editorial decisions and for checking the supporting records. AI illustrations are labeled and should not be read as photographs of real events. The AI disclosure explains this practice in more detail.

Corrections and updates

Send a correction with the article URL, the disputed passage and a supporting record to daniel@visionarytalks.com. I review substantive errors and explain material corrections. A changed source value is dated; historical estimates are preserved where they help readers understand the change.

Daniel Mercer is my editorial pen name. I use it because I continue to work in the industry. The About page describes the background I have supplied and the limits of that public biography.
