That makes Alo unusual among big athleisure brands. Lululemon is public, Vuori and Fabletics took venture or private equity money, but Alo has been funded by its two founders from the start.

Color Image Apparel is the holding company the two built from a screen-printing business they started after high school. It used to hold two brands, Alo and Bella+Canvas. With Bella+Canvas sold, Alo is what the founders' wealth now mostly rests on.
Is Alo publicly traded?
No. Alo is private, so there is no Alo stock. In October 2023, Reuters reported that the founders had hired investment bank Moelis to look at selling a stake at a valuation of about $10 billion. No deal was announced. After the Bella+Canvas sale in 2026, trade press reported that Alo looked set up for an IPO or a sale, but no filing or timeline has been made public.
How much are Alo's founders worth?
| Estimate | Each founder | Date |
|---|---|---|
| Forbes, via Forbes Brasil | $4.7 billion | May 2025 |
| Forbes, as cited by Athletech News | $3.7 billion | June 2026 |
Both figures are Forbes estimates of a private company's value, not reported numbers. Forbes Brasil put Color Image Apparel's revenue at nearly $2 billion, including Bella+Canvas.

How I checked this
Alo is private and files nothing publicly, so this page relies on Reuters's 2023 report on the stake sale talks, Forbes's estimates of the founders' wealth, and 2026 trade coverage of the Bella+Canvas sale. The 50/50 split is Forbes's reporting, and the founders have not commented on it.
